This was a Quicknotes convo that I thought I'd extend into a topic. So how was your preferred celebration this year? I had a pretty good time being with family, going to church, listening to tons of music, and getting some really cool stuff. Got clothes, jewelry, the new U2 Cd, two harmonicas and an instructional Cd, a new Braille watch, a talking color identfier and pedometer, some videos, ornaments featuring Black Labs, etc etc. How about you?
Mine was great, thanks! Lol. On Christmas Eve, we went to my grandparents'. My closest cousins were there, though a few of them couldn't make it. Basically, the three other youngins and me watched some Simpsons DVD's and talked and hung around and pigged out the whole night. It was fun though. Then we came home and got back at like 11, and the movie "The Christmas Story," which I really like for some odd reason, was on. It was going to be on for 24 hours straight, it always is. I'd made a point to find it, and so I watched it play one time, and then part of another, but then went to bed. Then this morning, I opened up my presents kind of late on account of I slept in. I got a lot of fun stuff Ir eally liked. Then we went to my mom's family's for dunch (dinner lunch). There weren't any kids there apart from me and my eighteen year old sis and our twenty-year-old cousin, so I just hung around, talked and played cards with my parents. THen we came home and I ate eggs because I was hungry again, and now my parents and sis are watching "It's A Wonderful Life" and I'm up here on the zone and just popping down to be with them every so often. I don't feel like watching TV right now hehehe. Anyway hope you all had a great holiday, and didn't fall asleep reading this description. Happy Holidays, looking forward to the New Year!

Hi all,
I had a good Christmas. My mom and I opened up presents first thing, or I should say I opened up presents. She asked me if I wanted to eat breakfast first, or open presents, and I said, open presents, and she said, "thought you would." I got a dvd player, 7 dvd's, a new talking watch with a band instead of one with a strap, a new computer chair, which is nicer than the old one. It's bigger, and is padded, so it will be nice for sitting in for long periods. I got 3 bottles of perfume, and a tube of body lotion. We watched one movie on the dvd player, after we got it to play. They're great when the dvd doesn't get stuck, but if it gets stuck, instead of skipping and jumping like cds do, it keeps playing the same sceen over and over, and sometimes it takes a while before I know for certain it's stuck, because I can't see if it's moving or not. She asked a sales boy if any dvd would play on it, and he told her they all should, but they aren't set up in the store to play them for anybody, and the instructional manual said it had to be a certain kind. We keep accidently touching the surface with a finger, but after she wiped the first one we listened to, it played fine. The only thing is, the volume could stand to be a little louder on most of them. We already had 2 that won't play for some reason. I was really shocked, because I thought all dvd players had to be hooked either to a tv, or a computer, but this plays on its own without being hooked up to anything. It's small, and the screen is 5 inches, which might bother most sighted people, but doesn't bother me in the least. We watched one of the video movies we would've been watching thanksgiving, if the vcr had been working. We had dinner, baked chicken, oakra, sweet potato caserole, dressing and biscuits, and lemon pie for desert. She got 2 pies, one lemon, and one chocolate. We also got an ab lounge chair, which is supposed to strengthen the ab muscles and make you lose in the abs. Well that was our christmas, and it was a good one.

Excellent! My brother Alistair bought me a wonderful Daisy Easy Reader so no more searching for those damned books we had SNOW and ate great food, drank good rosso vino and watched NO tv,we visited Failte had a few drinks great craic altogether.
wow sounds like everyone's had an amazing christmas! I got a dvd player, with a dvd, lots of clothes, awesome boots, and some wicked bath stuff! The bubble bath smells amazing! I had a great time just spending time with my family. My little niece got lots of presents to, and watching her open them was a blast! She's such a cutie!
I myself got:
- Two greenday CDs (Nimrod and American Idiot, the latter being the better in my opinion, though Nimrod does have a sort of punkish feeling sort of lacking in AE)
- Two sound matter packs (arcade and fps)
- Three sound cds (Capt. Audio, SFX 1 and 2 ... sounds for christmas? you say. Yes, and I am proud. I respond)
- some blind games (Pipe 2, Super Tennis (which noone apparently plays anymore, or do I just go on all the wrong times), and the new AGS one, Montezuma's Revenge (which was supposed to come before christmas but has yet to show up... hmm)
- Shower CD Player (hurrah!)
- Two new portable cd players (one from my braille and mobility teachers and one from Mom)
- New noise canceling headphones (which better not break; htey're good but generate a noticable amount of hiss when NC mode is turned on; not as quiet as the others I had)
I think that's it (really?)
